Foundation for the Production and Translation of Dutch Literature (NLPVF)
- Short story by Stephan Enter (with Susan Massotty)
This semi-governmental organization promotes Dutch literature abroad and often mediates between publishing houses and individual translators. In 2007, the NLPVF added my name to its list of approved translators of Dutch poetry and literary prose, after a stringent peer review process. With the award-winning literary translator Susan Massotty, I translated a short story from Spel (Game), a critically acclaimed collection by Stephan Enter.
Poems for My Father’s Notebook
- Dutch poems by P. N. van Eyck and J. C. Bloem
In November 2007, Susan Massotty was awarded the prestigious Vondel Prize for My Father’s Notebook by Kader Abdolah. The Vondel Prize is awarded once every two years for the best literary translation from Dutch into English. My translations of two well-known Dutch poems were used in the English edition of this book. You can read a dual-language version of the poem by Bloem here.
